About Haresh
Haresh did not set out to become a caregiver. It started as the job in front of him, and over time it became the work he loves. More than seventeen years later, he calls it his calling. Along the way he trained as a medication technician and grew comfortable with higher-acuity needs, the kind of care that takes both skill and a steady hand. He approaches each new assignment as if it were his first, taking the time to learn how a particular person likes things done. Much of his experience is in memory care, where he is known for patience and a calm, unhurried way with people. Rather than correct or pressure a client who is confused or upset, he steps back, returns a few minutes later, and gently guides them toward something else, believing the work is always about meeting a person where they are. The bonds he builds run deep. He still remembers a woman he cared for who, on what she sensed was her last night, asked for him by name so he could be the one to help her to bed. Moments like that are why he stays. When he is not working, Haresh is a lifelong vegetarian who enjoys cooking for the people he cares for, along with reading, hiking, and staying active at the gym.
